Flexible Rate

With the flexible rate, you can modify or cancel your reservation free of charge until 3PM on the day before arrival. If you change or cancel your reservation after that, the first night will be charged. No prepayment is required; however, an authorization will be requested 7 days prior to arrival as a guarantee. Check-in is from 3PM, check-out by 11AM on weekdays and 12PM on weekends.

Semi-Flexible Rate

With the semi-flexible rate, you can modify or cancel your reservation free of charge until 3PM, 5 days before arrival. If you change or cancel your reservation after that, the first night will be charged. No prepayment is required; however, an authorization will be requested 7 days prior to arrival as a guarantee. Check-in is from 3PM, check-out by 11AM on weekdays and 12PM on weekends.

Early Booking Rate – Non-Refundable

The non-refundable rate offers you our best price. The reservation cannot be modified or canceled and must be paid in full at the time of booking. If you change or cancel your reservation, the full stay will be charged. Check-in is from 3PM, check-out by 11AM on weekdays and 12PM on weekends.

City Tax

Rates exclude city tax of 8.5% on the accommodation rate. If the Municipality of Utrecht increases the city tax between the time of booking and the stay, the difference will be charged.

Payment

We only accept payment by debit or credit card. Eurocard/Mastercard, VISA, AMEX, and most Dutch debit cards are accepted. Cheques are not accepted. Contactless payments (e.g., via mobile phone) are also possible.

Refunds

If you cancel your booking, any refund will be issued via the same payment method used for the original booking. This also applies to modifications that result in a refund.

Parking

Parking on our premises is at your own risk. You are responsible for reserving a parking space. Cancellation of the parking reservation is possible until 3:00 PM the day before arrival. After that, the full amount will be charged.

Extra Bed and Baby Cot

Upon request, The Anthony can place one extra bed or baby cot in the room, above the standard maximum room capacity. This must be requested and confirmed by the reception before 3PM the day before arrival. For an extra bed we ask for a one-time surcharge of €45. There is no charge for a baby cot. Cancellation of an extra bed or baby cot is free of charge until 3PM the day before arrival.

Check-in

Upon check-in, guests must present a valid ID. Guests under 18 years of age may only check in when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Check-Out

On the day of departure, you must vacate your room by 11AM (weekdays) or 12PM (weekends). If the room is not vacant on time, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee of 50% of the room rate (if vacated before 6PM) or 100% (after 6PM). In this case, your luggage will be removed and stored. The Anthony is not responsible for any loss or damage to your belongings.

Late check out

A late check-out can be arranged with the reception and costs €15. This is available until 1PM on weekdays and until 2PM on weekends. Cancellation is free of charge until 3PM on the day of arrival. After that, the full late check-out amount will be charged.

Liability The Anthony

Compensation for damages will only be provided if caused intentionally or through gross negligence by our staff. Our liability is limited to the total amount of your booking. We are not liable for indirect damages (e.g., inability to work). The Anthony is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of personal belongings. Nor are we liable for complaints regarding third-party services within the hotel.

Guest Liability

If you or your guests cause damage to the hotel, or if the fire alarm is falsely triggered due to your actions, you will be held liable. A minimum charge of €150 applies per incident. In the case of a claim, our staff will inform you. The damage amount will be charged to your credit card or invoiced.

Responsibility for Disturbance & Misconduct

The renter of rooms or meeting space is responsible for the behavior of their guests. In case of eviction due to disturbance, no refund will be granted. The renter remains liable for room/meeting space rental and any bar guarantees or lost revenue. Non-incurred beverage costs will be deducted by The Anthony.

Staff Instructions

Instructions given by The Anthony staff must be followed at all times.

Guests

The number of guests in the room must correspond to the number of beds. Unregistered guests are not allowed. Violation may result in removal from the hotel. Visitors are only allowed with prior approval from the reception.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the building. A fine of €150 applies per violation. This includes all tobacco products and e-cigarettes. Tampering with smoke detectors or smoking in rooms results in the same penalty.

Extremely Dirty Rooms

If a room is left in an excessively dirty state, a minimum cleaning fee of €75 will be charged.

Delivery Services

Delivery personnel are not allowed on guest floors. All deliveries must be collected at the reception by the guest.

Own Food & Drink

Outside food and beverages are not allowed in public areas of The Anthony.

Drugs & Prostitution

Prostitution, the use, possession, or trade of hard or soft drugs (including nitrous oxide) is strictly prohibited and results in immediate removal without refund.

Photography

• Personal photography is allowed if it does not disturb operations or other guests
• Visitors acknowledge they may be photographed or recorded for promotional use.
• Commercial photography is prohibited without prior written consent.
• Photos of artwork or copyrighted material are for personal use only.
• Photos of events or performances require the organizer’s consent for commercial use.
• Drone photography is not allowed without prior written approval.

Security Cameras

Guests are aware that The Anthony is under video surveillance for the safety of guests, staff, and property.

Disturbance & Misconduct

The Anthony reserves the right to remove individuals or groups without refund for:

• Causing disturbance or displaying offensive/discriminatory behavior.
• Using the room in any way that deviates from its intended purpose.

If The Anthony deems it necessary, the group to which the nuisance-causing individual(s) belongs may also be removed, regardless of whether other individuals within that group have caused disturbances, without refund of any already paid costs.

Force Majeure

Events beyond The Anthony’s control (e.g., extreme weather, permit withdrawal, epidemics/pandemics, national mourning) may result in cancellation or suspension without compensation. The hotel retains the right to reimbursement. Cancellation by the client due to force majeure is excluded. Cancellation policies remain in effect.

Jurisdiction

In the unlikely event of a dispute, it will fall under the jurisdiction of the court of Utrecht.
