The Anthony Hotel – Utrecht

An old place with a new look. In recent years, the monastery has been converted into a hotel. With us you will find authenticity with the most personal approach possible. We want to be a place for the people from the neighborhood, the rest of the city of Utrecht, and tourists. We strongly believe in connecting international guests with the local environment.

At Kanaalstraat you will find the only hotel in Lombok; with stained glass, old wooden beams, a beautiful courtyard, restaurant, bar and a more than 100-year-old chapel for events. From morning to evening we see an interesting mix of people coming and going. Hotel guests, local residents, creative freelancers, students, businesspeople. With us you can eat, sleep, work, have a meeting, have a drink or just drop by accidentally. All day. Every day.

Are you a real early bird (you start at 5:30 am) and do you have at least 1 year of work kitchen experience with breakfast in hotels? Do you enjoy working in an old, but international environment and do you like good food? Then you might become our new permanent breakfast cook.

You are responsible for, among other things:

  • Setting up the breakfast buffet from A to Z from the kitchen
  • Monitoring the quality of our service and products
  • Adhering to occupational health, hygiene and safety regulations (HACCP)

This is what your day looks like:

Before your shift, you check in with your colleagues and then clock in. The atmosphere in our hotel and restaurant is primarily guest-oriented, but certainly not formal. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to guests from all over the world, or from ‘just around the corner’ in Lombok. At the same time, there are regular events of all shapes and sizes. You are primarily responsible for the breakfast buffet. Once breakfast is over, you help with the ‘mise en place’ for the rest of the day. You work 100% in the kitchen and guide, encourage and coach your employees. Together with the operational team, you are responsible for good service, but also for efficient staffing of the team and of course the food costs. Your presence contributes to good team spirit. And at the end of your shift you ensure an adequate transfer of the day.

Want to hang around after your shift? You are not alone, because working in one of the oldest places in Lombok is nice, but enjoying it afterwards with a closing drink might be even better. Not home yet? That’s not necessary, as an employee you get a discount on everything (rooms, food and drinks) in the hotel.

What do we offer:

This is an appointment for at least 24 hours per week. Salary is in accordance with the catering collective labor agreement and in accordance with your responsibilities and experience. As an employee of The Anthony you can stay at the hotel for free every year. You can also count on the following: discounts on everything in the building, fun drinks and probably more.
